What do you like best about Azure SQL Database?
Azure SQL Database offers impressive scalability and performance, which makes it perfect for small as well as large applications. It has high quality built-in high availability and disaster recovery feature that give a piece of mind to critical application. It can be integrated into other Azure services smoothly thus making it a complete cloud solution. There is easy management interface providing user-friendly automation backups which saves most of time and energy spent during the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Azure SQL Database?
Azure SQL Database transition for long-time SQL Server users like me is almost a walk in the park and there is little to dislike about it as well. It is easy to adjust because of the familiar interface and tools, and the added cloud-based features make everything better. Still, people who depend on proprietary .NET code against their database should be aware that CLR (Common Language Runtime) support has not been incorporated yet. Azure’s strong assistance and documentation succeeded in quickly resolving any minor issues noticed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Azure SQL Database solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Azure SQL Database in our web applications which need dependable and high-speed database support. It has been very helpful for us to control user data, transaction records, and analytics as well as providing a strong backend for our services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

At “We Are Learning,” Microsoft Azure serves as the linchpin of our hosting infrastructure, providing a robust, secure, and scalable environment for both our front-end and back-end services. Leveraging Azure’s managed app services has allowed us to focus on feature development and innovation, rather than being bogged down by infrastructure management. The platform’s built-in security features, including data encryption and Azure Active Directory, align well with our commitment to data protection and regulatory compliance. Its global reach and data center distribution have been invaluable in reducing latency, thereby enhancing user experience for our globally diverse customer base. Overall, Azure’s comprehensive suite of cloud services has been pivotal in achieving operational excellence, enabling us to scale seamlessly across markets and industries.

Overall:
I would like to highlight that the overall Azure functionalities and how everything is so tightly integrated makes it very attractive to work with in a professional context where everything is fast-paced. Both experienced people in our team, as well as new-joiners can easily navigate Azure and support client engagements. Generally, the interface is very intuitive and easy to work with, even for people who are new to it and don’t need all the bells and whistles. Additionally, I like the Azure also publishes APIs that make it easy for more experienced profiles to streamline their workflow or integrate with 3rd party tools to make life easier.
Pros:
For me, the most important features are the VMs, network access control, security features (like storage encryption) and the logging/monitoring. I use these on a weekly basis to support my work on offensive client engagments (Red Team exercises).
Cons:
I dislike the cost as this is marginally higher than other cloud providers but since I use this in a professional context, the cost is not relevant to me. I understant that for all the functionality and Quality of Life features, the general cost of the platform will be higher. Additionally, I dislike that the are planning to discontinue the possibility for Domain Fronting. Lastly, Azure limits SMTP outgoing traffic behind an enterprise license subscription and strictly monitors it, which is why we are forced to look elsewhere to host mail relays/servers when used for offensice engagements.
Alternatives Considered:
Google Cloud
Reasons for Choosing Microsoft Azure:
Mainly due to how Azure structures the billing and RBAC (Resource Based Access Control), which fit our needs better to maintain oversight of budget and billing (both internally and for clients).

What do you like best about Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)?
The best thing about AKS are:
1. It is easy to create and manage as compared to EKS, GKE, or other orchestration tools.
2. The secret store csi driver is yet another best feature to integrate keyvault with aks to manage confidential secrets.
3. We can integrate ACR with AKS just by providing the ACRPull role to the AKS managed identity is also a great feature as we don’t need to secret imagePullSecret for that.
4. We can seamlessly manage cluster autoscaling for high availability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)?
Well overall AKS is one of my favourite orchestration tool but there are some disadvantages as well:
1. There’s lot of headache while upgrading the cluster to the new Kubernetes version.
2. We cannot use tools like karpenter to reduce the cost consumption of AKS.
3. There’s no such support for spot nodes eviction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. The cluster autoscaling problem for higher availability.
2. AKS integration with other Azure Services like Entra ID, ACR, KeyVault.
3. Monitoring and Logging with log analytics workspace and managed prometheus and grafana.
4. Built-in security features like: private cluster, network policy
5. CI/CD using Azure DevOps by creating service connection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft Azure?
Switching to Microsoft Azure from our On-Premise environment has been one of the best decisions of our Organisation. Its easy to understand and implement features has been the highlight for me. Along with this, the customer support of Microsoft Azure is available 24/7 either via chat, email or even a phone call. In my work, I have to use Microsoft Azure on a daily basis. Initially it was scary to switch to cloud but Microsoft Azure has helped us to easily integrate our work to cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Microsoft Azure?
There’s actually not much to dislike about the Microsoft Azure, but if I had to choose something that could be made better is the cost which Microsoft charges. Although all the cost is justified by the product, but it is still not easy for small business to afford this cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Microsoft Azure solving and how is that benefiting you?
Microsoft Azure has helped our Organisation to switch from our On-Premise environment to the Cloud, with this, our availability has increased exponentially for our clients. Their customer support is always ready to help us out on our Problems and Queries whenever we have any. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Azure Virtual Network?
It help organization to move their on-premises network to cloud based network and this require a proper functionalities and services to complete this conversion, which azure is quite capable of providing all that.
Azure virtual netwrok can be linked with other virtual network in azure, on-premises infrastructure etc and this make the azure VM more integrated, scalable and flexible.
With azure virtual Network we can create our own private network in cloud and can be used in in business as it is more secure from different types of attackers and viruses.
High customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Azure Virtual Network?
Azure virtual network offer strong networking features but still it has some limitation like cost and complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Azure Virtual Network solving and how is that benefiting you?
As it provide advanced networking features, therefore Azure virtual network overcomes networking difficulties like connection and isolation (between two network, system etc),security, availability etc
Using azure Virtual network, organization and professional does not need to worry about the network security as azure virtual network is more secure than on-premises network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
